UP student leaders back Robredo, Pangilinan candidacies

Student leaders from the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman and Los BaÃ±os expressed their support for presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo and running mate Vice Presidential bet Senator Francis Pangilinan.

On Thursday, March 31, student representatives from UP Diliman passed Resolution No. 2022-03, endorsing the candidacies of Robredo and Pangilinan.

UP Diliman University Student Council (USC) said the endorsement is "premised on the broad desire to defeat the Marcos-Duterte alliance" and "on significant points of unities on people's issues."

Meanwhile, students representatives of UP Los BaÃ±os (UPLB) USC likewise declared support for the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem.

They likewise endorsed senatorial aspirants Teddy Baguilat, Neri Colmenares, Leila de Lima, Atty. Chel Diokno, Senator Risa Hontiveros, Elmer "Ka Bong" Labog, Alex Lacson, Atty. Sonny Matula, and Carmen Reyes-Zubiaga.

UPLB USC said the candidates endorsed were based on the UPVote results on the first 2022 National Mock Election, their platforms, and track record.

Robredo and Pangilinan are the student preference by an overwhelming majority, according to poll survey results released by UPVote on March 5.

Meanwhile, preferences for the senator position were dominated by 1Sambayan bets, with Atty. Chel Diokno at the lead in the survey.
