Sotto 'humbled' by Atienza's endorsement

Vice presidential candidate Vicente C. Sotto III on Wednesday, March 30 said he is humbled by a possible Paquiao-Sotto tandem floated by vice presidential candidate Representative Lito Atienza.

‘’I am humbled and will certainly appreciate such a move,’’ Sotto replied to a disclosure by presidential candidate Senator Manny Pacquiao of such a ‘’budding’’ tandem.’’

Sotto is the running mate of presidential candidate Senator Panfilo M. Lacson who resigned as chairman and as a member of Partido Reporma after former House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, Partido president, rocked the political boat leaving Lacson behind and endorsing Vice President Leni Robredo.

The possible Pacquaio-Sotto tandem was disclosed by Pacquiao on this first day of campaign in Iloilo city where he disclosed the possibility of Atienza, his running mate, not being able to go through the campaign routine because of his weakened knees.

Pacquiao told reporters that Atienza considers Sotto as a better alternative should he not make it due to the rigors of political campaigning.

Last February 16, Atienza made known that his doctors had pointed out the necessity of Atienza having a knee replacement posthaste.

Another vice presidential candidate, Rizalito David, also had floated the idea of a Vice President Leni Robedo-Sotto tandem to beat the Bongbong Marcos-Sara Duterte combination.
