Robredo to fly to US for daughter Jillian's graduation

After a grueling campaign season, defeated presidential bet Vice President Leni Robredo will fly to the United States to attend youngest daughter Jillian’s graduation at the New York University next week.

Robredo said they’ll be leaving this weekend for Jillian’s graduation on May 18.

Her youngest is graduating from NYU with a double degree on Mathematics and Economics.

“Pero pagbalik ko, kasama nyo ulit ako. Kasama nyo ulit ako kasi ang term ko naman ends June 30. So nagra-wrap lang kami ng campaign stuff (But when I get back, I’ll be with you again. I’ll be with you because my term ends June 30. So, we’re just wrapping the campaign stuff),” Robredo told some 170,000 viewers via Facebook Live on Thursday, May 12.

The Vice President added that she’s readying for a turnover.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is the presumptive vice president with more than 30 million votes.

Robredo said she’ll be gone for a week to spend time with her three daughters in the US.

“Time off with my girls saka mag-asikaso din sa mga anak ko. Matagal ko ding napabayaan (to take care of my kids. I have neglected them for a long time),” she added.

Jillian came home from New York before the campaign season ended to help her mother. She visited the “Solid North” to campaign in Ilocos and Baguio City, among others.
