Pasig holds first city health summit

Attesting to the city’s firm commitment to improving its health services, the Pasig local government held its inaugural health summit on Thursday, March 23. 

The program was led by the City Health Department (CHD), in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) - Pasig City Field Office. 

It was graced by Mayor Vico Sotto, Congressman Roman Romulo, City Health Officer Dr. Joseph Panaligan and other health sector representatives, as well as barangay officials in the city.

The summit, titled “Kalusugan: PASIGlahin,” brought together all city and barangay-level leaders and stakeholders to discuss policies and programs to prepare the city’s implementation of universal healthcare. 

Through these collaborations, the local government aims to ensure that healthcare becomes efficient and inclusive for all communities and sectors in Pasig.

Lectures explaining the components of universal healthcare were conducted by Assistant City Health Officer Dra. Emma Ruth Cuevas and Health Education & Promotion Manager. Dra. Mariane Bringuelo. 

Discussions on the roles of barangays in local government health initiatives for the universal healthcare rollout was led by DILG-Pasig  City Director Visitacion Martinez and City Planning & Development Officer Priscella Mejillano.

The local government assures that there will be more health summits to be conducted as the city materializes its vision of a “Healthier Pasig City for All.”
