Partido Federal faction endorses Mayor Isko

The faction of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) on Wednesday, March 30, endorsed the presidential bid of Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.

PFP chairman Abubakar Mangelen, who is also a commissioner of the National Commission on Muslim Affairs, affirmed the PFP’s endorsement by reading out the resolution during Domagoso’s grand rally at Iligan City Public Plaza.

Domagoso was the only one who had shown sincere appreciation to the problems of the Bangsamoro people and the whole of Mindanao among all presidential candidates, according to Mangelen.

“Wala kaming napili kundi ang ating butihing kaibigan na si Mayor Isko Moreno. Bakit? Dahil si Mayor Isko Moreno pa lang ang nagkilala sa Moro heritage at pati ‘yung mga problema ng mga Mindanaoan (We chose no one but our good friend Mayor Isko Moreno. Why? Because only Mayor Isko Moreno recognized the Moro heritage and also the problems of the Mindanaoans),” he said during his speech.

Mangelen also noted that Domagoso’s construction of the Islamic Cemetery in Manila was also one of the reasons why the PFP decided to endorse the Manila mayor.

“Siya lang ‘yung mayor sa tagal ng panahon sa Manila, na nagpalit-palit ng mayor sa Manila, siya lang ‘yung mayor na nagbigay ng lupa para po sa sementeryo ng Muslim. Palakpakan natin si Mayor Isko Moreno! (He was the only mayor during the time in Manila who gave land for a Muslim cemetery. Let's applaud Mayor Isko Moreno!),” he said.

The wing also said Domagoso “is most aligned and attuned to the needs of the Filipino people, especially those on marginalized status of living.”

In October last year, presidential candidate and former senator Marcos “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. joined the PFP and assumed the position as its chairman.

“Alam ninyo ang partido ni Bongbong Marcos na PFP, ang dapat chairman niyan ay si chairman general Mangelen. Kaso, ninakaw nila (You know, the party of Bongbong Marcos called PFP, the chairman of that should be chairman general Mangelen... But they took it from him),” said former Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones, founder of PFP and president of the Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte National Executive Coordinating Council (MRRD-NECC), a group that helped then Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to win in the 2016 presidential elections, in the same rally.

Castriciones is now running as senator under PDP-Laban but is a guest candidate in Domagoso’s Aksyon Demokratiko party.
