P4.4-M worth of marijuana plants uprooted in Benguet

KIBUNGAN, Benguet – Authorities discovered a marijuana plantation covering 750-square meter lot in the mountains of Sitio Lesbeng and Batangas in Barangay Tacadang in this town on March 22 and 23. Joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET) and Kibungan Municipal Police Station uprooted 5,604 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P3,280,800. Aside from the plants, the raiders also found 18 kilos of dried marijuana leaves and stalks worth P1,120,800 in the area. No farmers or cultivators were seen during the marijuana eradication.
