TINGLAYAN, Kalinga – Authorities destroyed marijuana worth P4.4 million in a three-day eradication operation from March 22 to 24 in Barangay Butbut Proper here.
Authorities burned a total of 10,400 fully grown marijuana plants from 1,200-square meter plantation and 20,000 grams of dried marijuana bricks.
Brig. Gen. David Peredo, Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief, cited the Kalinga Provincial Police for a successful operation.
"Even if we can't eliminate the problem of marijuana planting for a long time, we should not stop destroying it and it is better if we catch a cultivator who will be charged and jailed, it will be a way to prevent others from following suit," he said.
