More than 1,100 more policemen from the Philippine National Police (PNP) national headquarters (NHQ) at Camp Crame have been subjected to a training to prepare them for election duties next month.
PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos said the training of the 1,160 members of the PNP NHQ Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) started on April 7 nd will culminate on April 29 as the PNP gears-up security preparations for the forthcoming May 9 national and local elections.

The members of the PNP NHQ Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) are on top of the 16,820 uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police undergoing career courses and field training program for election duties.
Police Lt. Gen. Ferdinand Divina, PNP Deputy Chief for Operations/ Commander Security Task Force NLE (National and Local Elections) 2022, said PNP personnel play a crucial role in the elections.
"These training are indispensible as they review and examine the existing regulations, laws, and mechanisms to safeguard election processes with the end goal of ensuring a violent-free and fraud-free elections as well as restoring the trust and credibility in the electoral process," said Divina during the opening ceremony of the training program.
“As you undertake election duties, may you be reminded of the primordial obligation of every police officer to remain apolitical and always provide a professional, fast, efficient, and courteous response to a legitimate citizen request for police service or assistance," he added.
