Mayor Isko to hold miting de avance in Moriones, Tondo on May 7

Presidential candidate and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso will be holding his miting de avance in Moriones, Tondo on Saturday, May 7.

Domagoso said he will end his 90-day presidential campaign in Moriones, Tondo to show his gratitude to the people of Tondo where he started his journey as a public servant.

“Utang ng loob ko sa mga taga-Tondo kung nasaan man ako sa mundo ng public service. Doon ako nagsimula, doon ko tatapusin yung laban (I owe a debt of gratitude to the people of Tondo for what I have achieved in the world of public service. That's where I started, that's where I'll end the fight). I started there and I’ll end there. Yun man sukli ko na maibigay sa mga taga-Tondo. Yun ang reason behind. Gusto ko man lang makita nila (I will give that to the Tondo people in return. That's the reason behind this. I just want to see them),” Domagoso said in an ambush interview on Wednesday, May 4..

“Moriones kasi yun ang common eh. Madaling masakyan ng jeep yung northern part ng Tondo. Kung dito naman sa southern part ng Tondo, pwede mo naman lakarin yung pa-Zaragoza. Malapit yan sa sentro kasi, yung ginawa nating garden (Moriones because that's the common area. The northern part of Tondo is easy to reach by jeep. If it's here in the southern part of Tondo, you can still walk to Zaragoza. It's close to the center where we had the garden built),” Moreno explained.

Domagoso is known for being a scavenger in the slums of Tondo, Manila where he had to forage for food at the city dump.

He had previously said he wanted to change the system of governance in the country to uplift the lives of the poor people and to stop the rule by the elites.

The Manila mayor promised to build more public housing, public hospitals and school buildings, and create more job opportunities in the entire country if elected as president.

Domagoso remains confident that he will win in the presidential elections because of God.

“Bakit ako confident? May Diyos naman. ‘Di ba sabi nga (Why am I confident? There is a God. They say that) Vox Populi, Vox Dei (The voice of the people is the voice of God). Now, if we don’t believe in something, huwag na rin tayong maniwala doon sa ibang leader ng bansa. Kumbaga, basta ako yun lang ang akin (let us not believe in other leaders of the country. This is just my belief). Ngayon (Now), I’ll do my best and let God do the rest,” he said.
