Mayor Along lauds Caloocan police for arrest of 2 murder, robbery suspects

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan on Sunday, March 26, recognized the members of Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) for their successful arrest of a man wanted for murder and frustrated murder, and a robbery suspect.  “Muli nating ipinaabot ang ating pasasalamat sa ating kapulisan sa isa na namang matagumpay na operasyon kontra sa kriminalidad at pagkakahuli sa isa sa mga Most Wanted para sa kasong murder sa lungsod (We once again thank our police force  another successful operation against criminality and the capture of one of the Most Wanted for murder charges in the city)," Malapitan said. Col. Ruben Lacuesta, CCPS chief, identified the murder suspect as Efren Delos Santos Loquinario, 48, furniture helper, of Barangay 175, Camarin, Caloocan City. He was nabbed in Barangay Bauyang Bato, Mandaluyong City at around 3 p.m. on Friday, March 24.  CCPS operatives arrested the suspect by virtue of warrant of arrest for murder, and frustrated murder docketed under Criminal Cases No. 118048 and 118047, issued by Caloocan City Regional Trial Court Branch 125 Presiding Judge Rodolfo P. Azucena Jr. dated Jan. 31, 2022.  The suspect was allegedly involved in a murder incident of a barangay kagawad in 2016, police said.  Meanwhile, the city police force also arrested Bryan Romey, 38, of Barangay Deparo, Caloocan City for robbery and illegal possession of firearms along Bahay Bukid, Barangay 178, Caloocan City on March 16. According to the police report, Romey declared hold-up and took the bag, P5,024 cash, and three account record books o a female victim.  Patrolling police officers in the area chased and cornered the fleeing suspect leading to his arrest.  They recovered from the suspect one caliber .38 revolver, three rounds of ammunition, a Honda Click 125i motorcycle and the victim’s stolen items The suspect is facing charges for violations of Article 294 of the Revised Penal Code (Robbery with Violence against or Intimidation of Person) and Republic Act  10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act). “Kinikilala po natin ang pagsisikap ng buong CCPS na mawakasan ang kasamaan at matiyak ang seguridad at kapanatagan ng ating mga mamamayan (We recognize the efforts of the entire CCPS to end evil and ensure the security and comfort of our citizens),” Malapitan said.
