After a grueling presidential campaign, independent presidential candidate and Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said he will now go home and serve his family.
“I’m going home. After being away too long looking after the needs of other people, it is time to serve my family for a change,” Lacson said in his social media.
“Enjoying peace and quiet in these challenging times will probably be my life’s greatest reward,” Lacson further said.
Partial and unofficial counts show that former senator and son of the late strongman Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. is leading the presidential race while Lacson is in fifth place.
Lacson ran in tandem with Senate President Vicente Sotto III who is in third place in the vice presidential race.
