Four Chinese, Vietnamese arrested for kidnap-slay of Chinese-Filipino trader
Police anti-kidnapping operatives arrested four foreigners for their alleged involvement in the kidnap-slay of a Chinese-Filipino businessman who was abducted in Quezon City and whose body was dumped in Cavite four days after the abduction.
In its report, the Anti-Kidnapping Group of the Philippine National Police (PNP) identified the arrested Chinese suspects as Bei Huimin, 30; Jielong Shen, 26; and, Sun XiaoHui, 26., were arrested after withdrawing the ransom deposited in their accounts in Parañaque City.
PNP-AKG director Brig. Gen. Rodolfo Castil, Jr. said the fourth suspect, 33-year old Vietnamese Hong Puc Le, was collared in Quezon City. His bank account received P560,000 ransom.
He said the operation was carried out after the victim’s family sought the assistance of the police regarding the kidnapping that allegedly occurred on March 18 and the ransom demand by the suspects.
“However, while the investigation and backtracking were still ongoing, the kidnapped victim was killed by his captors and thrown away his cadaver in Tanza, Cavite in the morning of March 22,” said Castil.
The operations were carried out on March 23 after police investigators were able to determine the locations of the suspects.
The arrested suspects, together with the recovered items from their possessions were brought to AKG Headquarters for proper disposition, according to Castil.
The recent incident of kidnapping came after Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian expressed alarm over the unabated kidnapping incidents involving foreigners, especially relating to the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) in the country.
