A woman and her live-in partner were found dead inside their house at Barangay 176, Caloocan City on Sunday morning, March 26.
Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS) identified the deceased as Julieta Espinola, 46, and her live-in partner, Edgardo Mananquil, 52.
According to Capt. Nelson Dizon of the IDMS, investigator on the case, the couple was living together with Espinola's sons for 20 years.
Marcos Isaac, 22, one of Espinola's sons, said that the couple often argued because of jealousy.
Dizon said that before the day of the incident, the couple argued at about 5 p.m. until late evening.
Espinola's eldest daughter Aizy Isaac, 29, found her dead mother lying on the sofa at about 8:40 a.m on Sunday. Her stepfather was found lying on the floor, also lifeless.
Police said Espinola's eight-year-old son was sleeping inside the bedroom when the incident happened.
Both bodies had stab wounds on their necks.
A 13.5-inch kitchen knife with blood stains was also found on the floor near Mananquil.
Dizon said they are still conducting an in-depth investigation into the incident.
