With 34.88 percent voting turnout, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said the 2022 polls has the highest overseas voting turnout compared to past elections.

Per Comelec data, there is a total of 1,697,215 registered overseas voters this 2022 polls.
In a press briefing on Wednesday, May 11, Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex C. Laudiangco said they are expecting 26 of the 63 Philippine Overseas Posts constituted as special boards of canvassers to electronically transmit their certificates of canvass (COCs) to the Comelec, sitting as the national board of canvassers (NBOC).
“At mayroong (And we have) 37 manually accomplished COCs which will be delivered to us here straight at the NBOC,” said the acting spokesperson.
As of May 11, the COCs from Cambodia and Vietnam have already arrived at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City where the NBOC is currently convening.
“This late afternoon we are likewise expecting ‘yung COC from Amman Jordan and Tel Aviv, Israel,” Laudiangco said.
According to the acting spokesperson, Aman, Jordan, and Tel Aviv, Israel were supposed to transmit electronically.
“Unfortunately, the host countries –Jordan and Israel--- did not allow our BGANs (Broadband Global Area Network units) to enter the countries,” he explained.
He noted that the COCs of Aman, Jordan, and Tel Aviv, Israel are expected to arrive at PICC this afternoon, too.
Out of the 26 electronically transmitted COCs, the Comelec said it has already received 16 COCs.
“So ito po 61.54 percent na po tayo (So we are already at 61.54 percent) for the electronically transmitted,” Laudiangco said.
“Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Lebanon, Oman, Brunei Darussalam, Agana of the Americas OAV, Thailand, Athens Greece, Taiwan, Bahrain, United Kingdom, Japan, and Spain. I just need to get the two more from the Comelec secretary kasi hindi ko po makuha kanina ongoing ang canvassing natin (can’t get it awhile ago because the canvassing is ongoing).”
