Bongbong Marcos retains lead in presidential race

With 98.31 percent of election returns transmitted, former Senator Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr. retained his lead in the presidential race, according to the partial and unofficial count from the data provided by the transparency server of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to the Manila Bulletin dashboard.

As of 5:02 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, Marcos Jr. improved his vote count to 31,088,020, and kept his huge lead over Vice President Leni Robredo, who had 14,814,221. Senator Manny Pacquiao was in third with 3,629,491.

They were followed by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno with 1,898,732, Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson with 881,924, Faisal Mangondato with 258,315, and former presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella with 113,217.

Bringing up the tailend of the tally were Ka Leody de Guzman with 92,050, Norberto Gonzales with 89,074, and Dr. Jose Montemayor with 59,933.

On Tuesday, just a day after the elections, the Comelec En Banc denied the motions for reconsideration filed by petitioners seeking the disqualification and the cancellation of the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) of Marcos Jr.

Meanwhile, his running-mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte also maintained her lead in the vice presidential race, garnering 31,543,514 votes.

She was followed by Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan with 9,227,199 votes, Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III with 8,182,070 and Doc Willie Ong with 1,850,115.

They were followed by Lito Atienza with 267,463, Manny Lopez with 157,854, Walden Bello with 99,695. Carlos Serapio with 89,904, and Rizalito David with 55,471.
