2 crab hunters electrocuted in Quezon


AGDANGAN, Quezon – The bodies of two crab gatherers believed to have been electrocuted were found in a swamp in Sitio Lambo-lambo, Barangay Binagbag, here on Saturday afternoon, March 25.

Police identified the victims as Federico Usula, 40, and Gerry Ligua, 30, residents of Barangay Ilayang Bulo in Unisan, this province.

Investigation said a person named Arlie Durana found the victims while gathering wood in the area.

One of the bodies was soaked in the swamp while the other was hanging on a live electrical wire.

The incident was reported to barangay officials and the police.

Relatives of the victims told police that they left their houses at 5:30 p.m. on March 22 to gather crabs.

They failed to return home and were declared missing by the Unisan Municipal Police Station on March 24.
