A dream fulfilled.
Senator Robinhood "Robin" Padilla stressed this as he became part of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) by taking his oath as an honorary member of the PMA's Bagong Anyo ng Buhay (Banyuhay) Class of 2002.
Padilla joined Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte and PLDT Executive Leo Gonzales in becoming honorary members of the PMA Class of 2002 at oath-taking ceremonies at the Club Filipino in San Juan City on Friday, March 24.
"Mistah, pagkaraan ng 40 taon, ang aking pangarap na maging isang PMAer ay naganap. Maraming salamat po sa Bagong Anyo ng Buhay Class 2002 ng PMA (Mistah, after 40 years, my dream to become a PMAer has come true. My thanks to the Bagong Anyo ng Buhay Class 2002 of the PMA)," Padilla said.
"Ako po ay inyong inampon bilang inyong bagong 'Bok'Â sa kapatiran ng Banyuhay na siyang naglalarawan sa Karangalan, Katarungan at Kagitingan, KKK - tatlong letrang pundasyon ng Kalayaan ng ating Inang Bayan (You adopted me as your new 'Bok' in Banyuhay, which embodies the ideals of Honor, Justice and Valor - the foundations of freedom of our Motherland)," he added.
Padilla is a reserve officer of the Philippine Army (PA), with the rank of captain.
He has consistently expressed support for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in fulfilling its duty to defend the country and the Filipino people.
"Ang aming panunumpa ay pagtalima sa inyong kartilya at ng Katipunan ng mga anak ng Bayan na siyang humubog sa adhikain ng Philippine Military Academy (Our oath-taking [today](calendar:T5:today) is in line with your primer and that of the Katipunan, which shaped the aspirations of the PMA)," he said.
