Adamson bucked a scrappy start to turn back University of Santo Tomas, 11-25, 25-21, 25-13, 25-22, in the second round of UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball Saturday, March 25, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
After their lopsided opening-set loss, the Lady Falcons recovered just in time to climb to 6-2 in the standings and reaffirmed their mastery over the Golden Tigresses this season.
Trisha Tubu got over her slow start and delivered on both ends for Adamson after finishing with 21 points off 15 attacks and six blocks.

* Kate Santiago and Lucille Almonte added nine points each. The Lady Falcons untangled themselves from their fourth deadlock with the Golden Tigresses to take the 23-21 fourth-set lead courtesy of Santiago's back-to-back hits. Renee Peñafiel attempted some last-ditch effort for the Tigresses, but Regina Jurado's attack error stymied their assault before Tubu delivered the clincher for the Lady Falcons with an off-the-block kill. “Siyempre hindi naman papatalo ‘yong mga ‘yon. Buti nakuha pa rin namin. First set medyo kulang efforts namin buti nag-respond iyong team [from] second to fourth,” said Adamson head coach Jerry Yee. Eya Laure paced with 17 points built on 11 attacks, five aces and a block, while Imee Hernandez chipped in 14 in a losing effort as UST slid to 5-3. Meanwhile, the video challenge made its debut for Season 85 as promised, which was extensively utilized by Ateneo and UE in the first offering of the quadruple header.
