1,500 households to benefit from P15-M water supply project in Lucena

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Quezon Rep. David Suarez on Friday, March 24, led the groundbreaking ceremony for a P15-million public water system project what will benefit some 1,500 households in three barangays here.

Suarez said these projects materialized because of the generosity of persons who donated the lots where the faucets and water reservoir will be built.

He said these solar-powered projects in Sitio Curva, Barangay Ibabang Iyam, Purok Bagong Sinag, Barangay Cotta, and Purok Santa Teresa, Barangay Dalahican cost P5 million each.

They have a filtration system to ensure potability and are implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways Quezon 2nd District Engineering Office.

Suarez said these projects are in line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’s measures to address a looming water crisis in the country.

One-hundred fifty households in Sitio Curva and Purok Bagong Sinag and 900 in Purok Santa Teresa are the beneficiaries of these projects.
