Yassi Pressman: 'Let's not be part of the hate culture'

Television's newest  "Kurdapya," Yassi Pressman, has advice for people dealing with online bashing and bullying. This is amidst the flak she is getting from fans of James Reid and Nadine Lustre who called Yassi "kunsintidor" for defending her sister Issa way back when JaDine broke up. "Lagi ko pong sinasabi that it's important to be kind. Minsan kailangan mo ring intindihin that some people hurt people, hurt people basically. Meron din silang mga pinagdadaanan, meron din po silang mga problems na hindi natin maintindihan. Kaya hangga't maaari, hindi natin sila babatuhin ng apoy kung nagbuga po sila ng apoy. You just really wish na kung kaya mong sumagot ng hindi pasuntok, sagutin nyo po sila pero remember na hindi tayo dapat maging parte ng hate culture. There's so many people that are in pain right now. Napakaraming problema ng mundo, hindi mo na kailangang dagdagan," the 27-year-old Yassi said. (I always say that it's important to be kind. Sometimes you also have to understand that some people hurt people, hurt people basically. They're also going through some struggles, they also have problems that we probably cannot understand. So as much as possible, let's not throw fire at them if they spew fire. You just really wish that if you can answer without throwing punches, answer them but remember that we should not be part of the hate culture. There are so many people who are in pain right now. The world has so many problems, you don't need to add more.) James and Issa were seen together at Harry Styles' recent concert and even held hands, which led people to speculate that they're dating. This caused an uproar among JaDine fans. Yassi revealed that she reached out to Nadine and admitted her "anxiety" about the fans' reactions." Yassi quoted Nadine as saying: 'I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you feel better." The 'Kurdapya" star noted that she and Nadine remain on good terms. Both of them are contract stars with Viva. "Me and Nadine are cool, we're friends. We've been friends ever since we were kids kaya naman, lahat po okay po. Tsaka ilang taon na rin po. Kaya ayon, sana everybody, let everyone be happy."

"Para tapos na, isang beses ko lang sasabihin. Kami po ni Nadine, okay po kami. Ok rin po ang buong pamilya namin at syempre po, bago na public ang lahat, lahat po naasikaso in private. So lahat po walang problema," she stressed. (I'll just say this once. Nadine and I are fine. Our whole family is ok and, of course, everything was taken care of in private before it became public. So everything is fine.) Yassi added that she was surprised, like everyone, when James and Issa came out. However, she reasoned out that the two are of age already and can stand by their decisions. "They're old enough to make their own decision naman po. Lahat po ng tao may choice. And kung wala namang ibang taong tinatapakan, feeling ko wala namang problem," she reasoned out. Yassi plays the dual role of twins Kuring and Daphne in "Kurdapya" which is inspired by Pablo S. Gomez's comics classic of the same name. The sitcom directed by Easy Ferrer is shown every Saturday on TV5 from 6 to 7 p.m. and on Sundays at 8 p.m. on the Sari-Sari Channel. It also stars Marco Gumabao, Ryza Cenon, Nikko Natividad, Katya Santos, Juliana Parizcova Segovia and more.
