House Senior Deputy Majority Leader and Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos has once again topped a survey on the job performance of Ilocos legislators.
In a survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) between Feb. 25 and March 8, 2023, Marcos, a neophyte congressman, garnered a lofty job performance rating of 95.8 percent.
This placed the presidential son in a statically tie with the second-placed solon in the survey, Deputy Speaker and Ilocos Sur 2nd district Rep. Kristine Singson-Meehan (95.6 percent).
The top 3 was rounded up by Pangasinan 2nd district Rep. Baby Arenas (88.3 percent) and Pangasinan 4th district Rep. Toff de Venecia (88.1 percent).
Marcos’ rating was an improvement from his 93 percent performance in the RPMD survey held between Nov. 27 to Dec. 2, 2022, which he also topped.
Marcos, 29, has already filed 82 bills and resolutions as principal author and has co-authored 52 more.
Marcos is among the principal authors of the SIM Registration Act, the first law signed by his father, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
He is also a principal author of the proposed E-Governance Law, Internet Transactions Act, the Government Financial Institutions (GFIs) Unified Initiatives to Distressed Enterprises for Economic Recovery (GUIDE) Act, the Free Legal Assistance for Military and Uniformed Personnel Act, among others.
