CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office-13 has received eight machine guns and 60 9mm pistols to boost its firepower in the enforcement of laws and the campaign against the dwindling communist insurgency in the Caraga region.
PRO-13 Director Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II said the brand-new Negev 5.56mm light machine guns with 10,000 bullets will be issued to the provincial mobile force companies in Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.
This acquisition was based on Supply Directive Number DL-2023-01-13-020-PNP, Labra said.
On the other hand, the Rex Delta Striker Fired 9mm pistol with 2,400 magazines and 30,000 bullets were procured under Supply Directive Number DL4-2023-01-23-038-PNP.
These will be issued to fresh graduates of the Basic Internal Security Operations Course in Caraga region.
"These firepower assets, under the resource management perspective of the PNP PATROL Plan 2030, are of great help in our anti-criminality and anti-insurgency campaigns,” Labra said.
Labra thanked PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. for helping boost the resources of PRO 13. “This is really a big help in our peace and order campaign in this region,” Labra added.
