Marcos appoints new set of officials in various gov't agencies

Malacañang has bared a new set of appointments made by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. in various government agencies. Marcos made the appointments on March 21, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said on Friday, March 24. The President has named Henry S. Bensurto Jr. as the country's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Turkiye, with concurrent jurisdiction over Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. He also tapped Wilfredo S. Mallari as Undersecretary of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD). He also appointed McDonald M. Galit as Director IV in the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR); and Ariodera C. Rico as Director IV and Juana T. Tapel as Director III in the Department of Agriculture (DA)-Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Engineering and Alvin A. Leal as Director II in the DA-National Meat Inspection Service. In the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-National Tripartite Industrial Peace Council, Marcos appointed Renato B. Almeda as member representing the Employers’ Sector; and Luis C. Corral and Roland C. De La Cruz as a members representing the Labor Sector. In DOLE's Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), he appointed Angelina M. Carreon as Director IV, Jovencio M. Ferrer Jr. as Director, Baron Jose L. Lagran as Director IV, and Jerry G. Tizon as Director IV. Marcos appointed Hernando DM. Caraig Jr. as Deputy Administrator III in the Department of National Defense-Office of Civil Defense. New appointments in the National Security Council are Francis Jude S. Lauengco as Assistant Director-General, Cornelo H. Valencia Jr. as Director V, Cyril P. Cusi as Director IV, and Ruperta T. Salvanera as Director IV. Fhillip D. Sawali was appointed Director IV in the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Alim D. Pangandaman as Director IV in the Department of Transportation (DOTr), and Richard G. Dayag as Director II in the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). Deolito L. Alvarez, Annabel G. Pulvera-Page, and Rory Jon Q. Sepulveda were tapped to be acting members representing the Private Sector, Board of Directors of the DOTr-Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority. Alma G. Abacahin and Manuel G. Golino were appointed Fire Chief Superintendents of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
