Man arrested for possession of gun, explosives, drugs in Las Piñas

  An armed man was arrested for causing trouble in his neighborhood by members of the Las Piñas police CAA substation who were conducting “Oplan Galugad” on Thursday night, March 23.   The Southern Police District (SPD) said the suspect, identified as Johnrick Salangsang, 20, alias “Madre,” was arrested around 8:30 p.m. along Lemon St., corner Saging St., Barangay CAA, Las Piñas City.   The police said members of the CAA substation wee conducting “Oplan Galugad” when they were approached by a resident who claimed that Salangsang, who was armed with a handgun, was creating trouble.   The police immediately responded and tried to pacify the suspect. Recovered from Salangsang were one .9mm pistol with magazine loaded with five live ammunition, one hand grenade placed inside a sling bag, and around 0.77 grams of shabu worth P5,236.   The suspect was immediately brought to the Las Piñas Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit for investigation and was detained at the police custodial facility.
