Students, teachers rush outside classrooms as magnitude 5.6 quake hit Cagayan province
CAGAYAN -- Students and teachers of Calayan West Elementary School and Calayan High School Main in Calayan Island rushed outside their rooms as they suddenly felt a tremor measuring intensity 5.6 at 7:30 in the morning on Thursday, March 23.

According to Brgy. Chairman Romel Remolacio of Brgy. Centro Dos, everyone was safe in the said school and no one was hurt. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported the earthquake jolted the whole Cagayan province. Intensity 5 was felt in Calayan, Cagayan, and intensity II in Flora and Santa Marcela, Apayao. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
