Police seized a total of P850,000 worth of illegal drugs in two separate buy-bust operations in Marikina City on Wednesday, March 22.
Marikina Police Chief Col. Earl Castillo identified the arrested suspects as Oscar Gregorio, 41; Rodolfo Unaroza, 39; and Jenny Pasuleme, 50.
Gregorio was arrested by Marikina Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) operatives at 6 p.m. along Shaw Street in Barangay Tumana, Marikina City.
Police said surveillance activities of the suspect were conducted prior to the buy-bust operation.
Confiscated from Gregorio were seven plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing 75 grams. It has a market value price of P510,000.
Meanwhile, SDEU operatives nabbed Unaroza and Pasuleme at around 9:35 p.m. in Marikina City.
Police recovered eight plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing 50 grams and worth P340,000.
An Armscor 12-gauge shotgun and three pieces of 12-gauge live ammunition were also confiscated from the two suspects.
All drug evidence was submitted for laboratory examination.
After documentation by the Marikina SDEU, all three suspects were turned over to the Eastern Police District (EPD) Forensic Unit for a drug test.
They are currently detained at the Marikina City Police Station and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
Unarosa and Pasuleme are also facing additional charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.”
“The EPD will ensure to enhance its maximum police operations on the ground to combat such lawlessness within the community,” said EPD District Director Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta.
