Negros Oriental police chief relieved


BACOLOD CITY -- Col. Reynaldo Lizardo,  Negros Oriental police chief, was relieved from his post effective March 22.

Lizardo was relieved almost three weeks after Gov. Roel Degamo, along with eight others, was killed and 17 others were wounded in his residence in Pamplona town.

According to Lt. Col. Kym Lopez, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental police, Col. Alex Guce Recinto will assume Lizardo’s post.

The turnover of command will be held on Friday, March 24, Lopez said.

Lizardo's new assignment or the reason for his relief  was not disclosed.

He was assigned to the province in November 2022.
