Malabon gov't opens registration for student employment program
Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval announced on Wednesday, March 22, that the city’s Public Employment Services Office (PESO) has opened the registration for the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) 2023 for learners in the city.
The SPES is a youth employment-bridging program that aims to provide temporary employment to poor but deserving student, out-of-school youth, and dependents of displaced workers to augment the family’s income and help ensure that they are able to pursue education, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Students and out-of-school youth in the city, 15 to 25 years old, are eligible to apply for the program and may be assigned to do office work either in the city government or private companies. The students must have obtained a passing general weighted average (GWA) and their parents should have a combined annual net income (including the student if he/she is working) which does not exceed the regional poverty threshold (P197,868 yearly income and P16,48 monthly). Out-of-School youth or those who want to continue their studies may also apply for the program. The SPES registration will be held until March 26. Those who are interested may coordinate with the Malabon PESO or register through [https://bit.ly/SPES-LGU](https://bit.ly/SPES-LGU) On March 17, officials of the Malabon PESO, DOLE National Capital Region-Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela (NCR-Camanava), and Jollibee Foods Corporation held the SPES orientation of 45 beneficiaries in the city.
