Policemen uprooted 14 marijuana plants and also recovered 125 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P15,000. Capt. Markelly Laganipa, deputy chief of Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), said the operation was launched after they received information about his alleged illegal activity. Laganipa said that it took them about three months to monitor the suspect to confirm the said report. Laganipa said the plants were surrounded with grasses, and were planted in a strategic area, where it is not visible. He said that selling flowers is just a ‘front’ of the suspect. The suspect will be charged for violation of Section 16 (cultivation) of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to Laganipa.
