Shabu, marijuana worth P517,000 seized, 4 drug pushers busted in Cordillera
CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Authorities seized a total of P517,000 worth of shabu, marijuana and nabbed four drug personalities during separate anti-illegal drug operations in Baguio City, Mt. Province, and Benguet on March 21.
Brig. General David Peredo, Jr., regional director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera, said a total of P37,603.32 worth of shabu were confiscated from four drug pushers during buy-bust operations, while fully grown marijuana plants valued at P480,000 were uprooted and burned at Sitio Lingey and Sitio Pakak in Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet.
The arrested suspects were identified as Anna-Lynn Lee, 50, listed as a high value target of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera and City Drug Enforcement Unit; Francisco Corpuz Jr., 25; David Eguid, 43, and Jodell Montealegre, 18.
Peredo said Lee was arrested by joint personnel of BCPO Camdas Police Station (PS2) and PDEA-Baguio after she sold 0.47 gram of shabu worth P3,196 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer in Barangay Pinget, Baguio City.
Corpuz, Jr. was arrested after he sold one plastic sachet of shabu with an estimated weight of 0.9 grams and a SDP of P6,120 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer in Barangay Fairview, Baguio City.
In Mt. Province, members of the Paracelis Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested suspects Eguid and Montealegre after they were caught in a drug session in Barangay Bantay, Paracelis.
Seized from them were 4.1599 grams of shabu placed in three plastic sachets with an estimated price of P28,287.32.
Meanwhile, a continuous search for marijuana plantation sites has resulted in the discovery of 480 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants (FGMP) with an SDP of P480,000 in three plantation sites at Sitio Lingey and Sitio Pakak in Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet.
