Police net P1.7-M shabu from drug peddler in South Cotabato

GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Authorities arrested a drug pusher and seized suspected shabu valued at P1.7 million in a buy-bust operation in Polomolok, South Cotabato on Monday, March 20. Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, Police Regional Office-12 director, identified the suspect as Rey Caspillo, 36, a resident of Banga, South Cotabato. Caspillo was arrested after he sold some 250 grams of shabu worth P1.7 million to a poseur-buyer. The operation was the offshoot of an intelligence report that said the suspect had been smuggling illegal drugs into this city from South Cotabato. “The suspect’s arrest will mean to incapacitate the local drug network to bring their drug supply into the city,” Macaraeg said. Suspect faces drug-related charges.
