PH to experience partly cloudy weather, isolated rain showers
The country will have mostly clear skies with a slim chance of rain showers or thunderstorms in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday, March 22.
PAGASA said the entire archipelago will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ridge or extension of the high pressure area (HPA) and easterlies.
The HPA is an anti-cyclone weather system, while the easterly wind is the warm air coming from the Pacific Ocean.
Although there is a low chance of rain, PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja still advised the public to stay vigilant as there may be flooding or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusts of wind, and sometimes hail, often accompany severe thunderstorms.
Estareja said PAGASA has not monitored a tropical cyclone that may affect the country in the next few days.
