Go Negosyo and the Irish Embassy in the Philippines had a ceremonial signing of the Uplifting of IP Women Project in Davao City last Wednesday, March 15, in a bid to empower the Matigsalug Tribe through entrepreneurship.
The signing was held at the RFM Corporate Center in Mandaluyong City. Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion is the president and chief executive officer of RFM Corp.
“The project aims to empower the women of the Matigsalug Tribe through entrepreneurship while promoting physical and mental wellness among the indigenous community,” a statement from Go Negosyo said.
The signing was attended by Concepcion, Ireland Minister of State Niall Collins, Irish Ambassador to Manila William Carlos, and Go Negosyo Senior Adviser for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Engr. Merly Cruz.
During the event, Cruz gave an overview of the project and its objectives, while Niall Collins responded by expressing his full support for the project.
Uplifting the IP Women of Davao is headed by Go Negosyo, in collaboration with the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region XI, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples Region XI, New Zealand's largest web company Zeald, New Zealand Embassy in the Philippines, and the Ireland Embassy.
In July last year, Carlos visited the women beneficiaries of the Matigsalug Tribe.
During his visit, project stakeholders presented the activity’s goal to provide additional livelihood for their families and communities through entrepreneurship.
The community’s core group and digital team also had the opportunities to talk with their trainers from DTI and Zeald.
