Drunk driver arrested after hitting multiple vehicles on QC roads

A drunk man who fled allegedly after failing to settle his bill at a bar in Cubao, Quezon City, was arrested when the car he was driving hit several vehicles on city roads on Monday, March 20.  The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the suspect as Abdulnasif Artiga Dimaporo, 30, of Makati City. Quezon City Public Order and Safety (DPOS) personnel tried to flag down the suspect’s Honda City subcompact sedan after it hit motorcycles and other vehicles along Stanford Street near Aurora Boulevard in the city at around 6:30 a.m. However, the suspect sped away towards the southbound lane of Katipunan Avenue which led to a chase. The city police immediately dispatched personnel to arrest the suspect after receiving a report from the DPOS.  During the chase, the suspect tried to execute a U-turn upon entering the White Plains Subdivision where he bumped into a boom barrier before he was collared by the police officers. The QCPD said the suspect’s car also hit other parked vehicles along the northbound lane of Katipunan Avenue going to E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue. Appropriate charges will be filed against Dimaporo, police said.
