Driver fatally struck by truck in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY â€“ A 46-year-old driver was fatally struck by his truck loaded with sand in Barangay Villamonte here on Monday, March 20. Police identified the victim as Ernie Alegia, 46, of Murcia, Negros Occidental. Capt. Greeky Cayao, head of Police Station 4, said that Alegia disembarked from his truck to unload his cargo when the vehicle suddenly moved forward. The victim went in front of the truck to stop it but the vehicle continued moving until he was sandwiched between the truck and a concrete wall. The victim died on the spot, according to Cayao.
