Fresh from his honest review of Hailey Bieber’s Rhode makeup line, which he didn’t like, fans asked Jeffree Star to share his thoughts on Selena Gomez’ Rare Beauty products. “It’s time to finally sit down and review Selena Gomez’ Rare Beauty. I’ve never tried it but Selena Gomez launched Rare Beauty in the pandemic, it was September 2020,” he posted last March 19, 2023. “I was over the beauty community, I was over makeup, and ,honestly, I didn’t care. I thought it was just another celebrity, another brand, but, baby, she’s putting in the work. I watched this brand evolve. I love that it’s not just another celebrity brand just trying to cash in. She actually cares and I like the message behind the brand.”

He reviewed a lot of Rare Beauty products, and he approves the liquid blush, contour stick (“blended like a dream”), liquid eyeshadow, “Italian-baked” highlighter, setting spray, and the brush. The only products that didn’t quite excite him were the liquid highlighter and the primer. Because of this review, “I’m excited for makeup again,” he says in the video. Jefree ends the video by saying that Selena Gomez’ Rare Beauty and Rhianna’s Fenty got it right.
