Celebrity actress Nadine Lustre has called on the public to save Masungi Georeserve in Rizal, calling it her “special place” where she can “reconnect with nature.”

She made the call after her recent visit to the protected area.

“Masungi is a very special place to me because it is where I reconnect with nature. It is also where you can reconnect with nature. And it is a sanctuary for biodiversity. So let's all come together and save Masungi,” she said in a video message posted on the official Facebook page of Masungi Georeserve.

According to Masungi, Lustre was at the conservation area to participate in their tree nurturing activities

“Our honorary park ranger and MMFF (Metro Manila Film Festival) Best Actress Nadine Lustre participated in tree nurturing activities at the Masungi Geopark Project, including weeding out grasses and mulching,” it said.

The celebrity wanted to see how Masungi was doing amid our challenges and came to show support, it said.

“She also shared with us her journey to a vegan lifestyle, which she is embarking on for the welfare of animals and the planet. Nadine is one of our women allies in fighting for Masungi's future."

Masungi Georeserve is a conservation area and geological wonder in Rizal. It is a 1,500-hectare area with unique rock formations, limestone hills, and diverse flora and fauna.

But, in recent years, the area has faced threats from a variety of human activities, prompting concerned individuals and groups to call for its protection and preservation.
