Grenades discovered in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two grenades were found in separate places here on Monday morning, March 20. A report from the Police Regional Office-9 said children were playing in Zone 3 in Barangay Lumbangan when they found a smoke hand grenade in the area. The explosive was secured by barangay councilor Elmer Perez and thereafter turned over to Zamboanga City police Explosives and Ordnance personnel. Another grenade was found during that same morning in a nearby barangay. Roberto Cinco, a resident, was walking in Sitio Gapuh in Barangay Talabaan when he spotted a fragmentation grenade. It was also placed under the custody of the Explosives and Ordnance personnel of the Zamboanga City police.
