Solane golf tournament makes a comeback for a cause

The sixth edition of the LPG brand’s annual golf tournament aims to foster camaraderie among industry partners and executives

Solane, one of the leading LPG brands in the country, is bringing back its annual Solane Golf Tournament after a three-year hiatus to continue its tradition of expressing gratitude and sharing successes with its valued industry partners, while giving back to the community through its Solane Alab Kalinga arm.

A total of 89 industry partners and Solane LPG employees participated during a one-day event at the Tagaytay Midlands Golf Club in Talisay, Batangas last March 10, where they competed in a System 36 tournament including funholes and special awards.

“The Solane Golf Tournament is our way of saying thanks to our customers and partners for trusting us. We hold this tournament in recognition of the collaboration our partners have given us,also giving everyone an opportunity to engage with fellow business owners and operators to strengthen our community,” said Jose Antonio Gonzalez, CEO of ILC.
“We regard our customers, clients, and business partners as a key driver behind our success. We build our relationship with them through events like this, andwe make sure that we work hard to provide them with nothing but the best customer service because that is our core commitment as a company,” Gonzalez added.

While Solane LPG has been hosting the annual sporting event since 2014, this year’s edition provided an opportunity for several Solane executives and partners to finally meet in a face-to-face setting since the onset of the pandemic.

“Through the Solane Golf Tournament, we get to celebrate the relationship we’ve built with our customers over the years. This year, we’re very happy to finally meet face-to-face several of the distributors that we’ve worked with,” said Elma Revillame, National Sales Manager - B2B of Solane LPG.

Golf for a cause
This year’s edition of the Solane Golf Tournament is special as it is aimed at giving back to different communities. By selling additional mulligans during the cup, Solane LPG was able to raise funds for Solane Alab Kalinga, its corporate social responsibility arm.

According to Manna Pinto, Sales Operations Manager - B2B of Solane LPG, raising funds for Solane Alab Kalinga is a response to the after-effects of the pandemic. “We wanted this year’s golf tournament to be more intentional. By raising funds for Solane Alab Kalinga, we want to show that we can still give back to the community while still having fun and also strengthening our relationship with our business partners.”

Aimed at helping fight under nutrition, Solane Alab Kalinga focuses on projects that promote food security for underprivileged Filipino children nationwide.

As part of its commitment to extend its brand of care in the kitchen to different communities, Solane LPG has also been active in reaching out to several non-government organizations and charities by providing them with free LPG that will help them reallocate their resources towards different programs and services.
