The Parañaque City local government launched a project called “Kumustahan sa Kalusugan with Lolo and Lola” on March 18 to attend to the health of senior citizens in the city.

Mayor Eric Olivarez said the program will be held twice a month in different barangays in the city in coordination with the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA).

The program was launched at Sitio 4 covered court in Silverio Compound, Barangay San Isidro as a joint  project of the City Nutrition Office and the Public Information Office under Catalino Alano Jr.

During the event, city nutrition officer Dr. Mercy Bunnao talked
about Pinggang Pinoy and the proper diet for seniors, including portion
servings that are slightly different for lolos and lolas.

The mayor said a question and answer (Q&A) portion was also conducted to discuss proper nutrition of senior citizens, the program's social information campaign led by the City Social Welfare and Development Office, and Philhealth registration.

To lighten the mood of the participants during the activity, the senior citizens were served with soup, bread, coffee and tea.

They were also given medicines and vitamins sponsored by local government partner, Ritemed, and bottled water from Maynilad.

Olivarez said the mugs used in the distribution of coffee and tea, as well as the pictures taken at the photo booths, were also given to the senior citizens as tokens from the city government.
