Michael Leyva invites everyone to celebrate life with his latest collection

For the final day of Bench Fashion Week, the noted Filipino fashion designer hosted a ball

The category is… life in color. That’s what fashion designer Michael Leyva’s show is all about during the final day of Bench Fashion Week (BFW) spring-summer 2023. To hype up everyone for the fashion festivity that’s about to unravel on the runway, the show started with the house tunes of the Queens remix of “Break My Soul” by Beyonce and Madonna. As the lights hit the runway, it comes to life Michael’s muses wearing his vibrant creations walk down the runway. Gracing the runway are dresses and suits in the grandest proportions with dramatic flounces, billowing sleeves, and romantic drapery. Adding flair to the runway show are the models dancing and skipping to the beats of the music. Among our favorites are the sequinned jackets for men, the burnt orange dress with a keyhole cutout, ruffled sleeves, and a playful skirt, and the finale look—a modern Cinderella dress adorned with feathers and thousands of crystal embellishments. All in all, Michael boots the house down with his latest showcase and definitely earned 10s across the board just by the audience reaction alone. “I just wanted to show a different Michael Leyva collection this time—very fun and young,” the designer says. “It is an honor for me to be working with Bench, especially Bench Fashion Week is the most awaited fashion event in the Philippines today.
