Marikina City Council recognizes young sports medalists
As part of its continuing support to young homegrown athletes, the Marikina City Council passed a resolution recognizing two medalists in the 60th World Sikaran Brotherhood of the Philippines National Tournament of Champions.
Honored were athletes Kisha Angel Daphne L. Gutierrez, who won a gold medal in the Blackbelt category, and Anthony Jamison, who won the silver medal in the Greenbelt category.

Resolution No. 043, sponsored by City Councilor Carl Africa, sought to congratulate and commend the athletes as their achievements in their participation in competitions bring inspiration and honor to Marikina City.

"This further inspires the City Government of Marikina to deepen its commitment to further sportsmanship and integrity in raising our own globally competitive athletes."
Gutierrez and Jamison were presented with the resolution at the city council chambers by Councilor Africa and Vice Mayor Marion Andres.
