BACOLOD CITY – A courier service provider based in Barangay 7 here was robbed of P1.1 million on Friday, March 17.
Police have two persons of interest in the incident.
Capt. Jonito Pastrana, Police Station 2 said, said that the company was robbed by two perpetrators on a board a motorcycle.
Pastrana said that one of the persons of interest was believed to be a former employee. But he refused to elaborate further as they are validating the information.
He said delivery riders were waiting outside the warehouse for their parcels while others were remitting their collection when one of the perpetrators entered the premises.
The warehouse had a security guard but the gate was open as there were delivery riders coming in and out of the premises, he added.
Pastrana said the perpetrator knew where the money was kept and where the office is situated based on a copy of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera.
However, police failed to identify them through the CCTV as their faces were covered with bonnets and helmets.
Pastrana said they are coordinating with the company to gather more information that could help them in their investigation.
