Alliance of WPS watchers to hold street event in QC

A network of organizations and individuals aiming to raise awareness on various issues concerning the West Philippine Sea (WPS) will be holding a street event on Tuesday, March 21, in Quezon City to call on President Marcos to make sure that not an inch of Philippine waters will be lost to foreign nations.

The Alliance of West Philippine Sea Watchers will hold the "We are not moving, not one inch" event to call on the President "to uphold and be accountable" to the statement he made in February 2022 at the Philippine Military Academy that the Philippines "will not lose an inch of its territory."

The event will be held at the corner of Malingap and Maginhawa Streets (in front of Bayantel Building) in Quezon City starting 1  to 7 p.m. and will offer free entrance, food, and entertainment.

Marcos, in a speech during the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Homecoming 2023 held at Fort Del Pilar, Baguio City on Feb. 18, reiterated his strong political stance amid the heightened geopolitical tensions in the WPS.

He said that the country will continue to uphold its territorial integrity and sovereignty in accordance with the Constitution and international law.

The President added that the national government will work with the Philippines'  neighboring countries for the safety and security of the people and on territorial matters.
