CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Eleven wanted persons were arrested and loose firearms were seized in the Caraga region over the weekend, the Police Regional Office 13 reported on Monday, March 20.
Suspects were apprehended on Saturday, March 18, during the implementation of search warrants across the region.
The PRO 13 also reported that 12 loose firearms and ammunition were confiscated through the implementation of search warrants in Caraga on Saturday.
Labra said that they have intensified the campaign against loose firearms.
“We step up our drive against loose firearms which can be used in the commission of crimes or illegal activities,” he said.
“We remind the general public that possession of such is a violation of the law so we remind firearm holders to surrender unlicensed and unregistered firearms to the nearest police unit for safekeeping,” Labra added.
“Yes, our all-out operation against loose firearms is a plus factor in preventing criminalities.”
Suspects are in the custody of arresting units for filing of appropriate charges.
