In celebration of the cityhood anniversary of Parañaque City, Malacañang declared Feb. 13 as a special non-working holiday in the city.

Under Proclamation 144, Parañaque City marks its Cityhood Anniversary on Feb. 13.

The proclamation, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, stated ” it is but fitting and proper that the people of City of Parañaque be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.”

According to Mayor Eric Olivarez, work in local government units and private companies, including in all schools in the city, is suspended on Monday to give way to the celebration of Parañaque‘s 25th cityhood anniversary.

Olivarez said the celebration started on Jan. 23 with the presentation of “Gandang Mamita and Gwapitong Papito 2023” candidates at the City Hall grounds.

He said a thanksgiving mass was held on Monday, Feb. 6, to mark the beginning of the week-long celebration of the cityhood anniversary.
