CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Authorities arrested two drug pushers and 130 grams of suspected shabu worth P884,000 were seized in a buy-bust operation here on Wednesday, March 1.
The identities of the suspects were temporarily withheld pending the arrest of their suppliers and their cohorts.
Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 chief Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II said the 13th Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-Regional Intelligence Division, Butuan City Police Office-Station 3, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Agusan del Norte arrested the suspects at around 7:55 p.m. in a beach resort in Barangay Masao. Authorities also confiscated a weighing scale and drug paraphernalia.
Labra said one of the suspects is a Top 10 regional top priority target/high-value individual (HVI) and a former drug surrenderer on June 30, 2016 while the other was listed as a street-level individual (SLI).
Suspects are in the custody of the Regional Intelligence Division 13 and face drug-related charges.
Labra cited the 13th Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-Regional Intelligence Division, Butuan City Police Office-Station 3, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Agusan del Norte for a job well done.
“There is no slowing down in our fight against illegal drugs and in going after those involved in illegal drugs,” he said. “So far, this is the biggest haul of shabu in a single operation under my helm.”
