VM Andres offers free mental health services to Marikeños
The Office of Vice Mayor Dr. Marion Andres will be offering free psychiatric consultations to Marikina City residents this coming Friday, March 24.
On its official Facebook page, the Marikina OVM said the consultation will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Citizens of all ages who are interested in availing of the service are requested to contact the OVM starting Monday, March 20, in order to be included in the list of patients for the consultation.
The OVM can be reached through landline number (8) 532-7223.
Individuals can also physically go to the vice mayor’s office directly to have their names listed for the scheduled consultation.
On March 24, the consultation will be conducted at the OVM Conference Room in the second floor of the Legislative Building in Barangay Sta. Elena, Marikina City.
The OVM assured the public that all the information that will be shared to the psychiatrists during their sessions with patients will remain strictly confidential.
The free psychiatric consultation is among the many free medical services that the OVM provides for citizens.
The OVM has frequently offered these mental health services since 2020 to help residents who are having psychiatric problems amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
They have hosted teleconsultation and online consultation with licensed psychiatrists, in partnership with local organizations like the Lingap Diwa Foundation, and the Barkadahan ng Marikina.
Vice Mayor Andres has also collaborated with the Association for the Right of Children in Southeast Asia (ARCSEA) in support of their program to enhance mental health wellness of urban poor children and youth in crisis during the pandemic.
For Women’s Month, the OVM is holding [free cervical cancer screenings](https://mb.com.ph/2023/3/4/marikina-gov-t-offers-free-cervical-cancer-screening-for-women-s-month) for women residents every Thursday throughout March.
Accessible eye check ups, and high blood and diabetes tests are also conducted in the city’s barangays.
