Parañaque Rep. Olivarez distributes assistance to fire victims

Parañaque City 1st District Representative Edwin Olivarez and his brother, Mayor Eric Olivarez, distributed assistance to 79 families who were victims of a fire that occurred along Gomburza Extension in Barangay Sto. Niño on Friday, March 17.

The Southern Police District (SPD) said fire broke out at around 2:03 p.m. A 12-year-old girl died while four others were injured during the blaze.

The Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) has yet to establish the cause of the fire.

Olivarez said the affected families are temporarily staying at the Sto. Nino gym.

Each family was given P2,000 worth of financial assistance, as well as sleeping mats and hygiene kits.

The congressman said the city government and his congressional office will also give assistance to the family of the victim who died in the incident.

The Office of Mayor Eric will also help the victims in building their new houses by providing construction materials.

Olivarez said Mayor Eric will deploy trucks to clean the debris in the area so the victims can start the reconstruction of their houses.
