National University made quick work of Far Eastern University with a 25-21, 25-9, 25-18 sweep for its third straight win in the first round of the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament on Saturday, March 18, at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City

The Lady Bulldogs set the tone pretty much the rest of the way to cruise to a 5-1 record in the standings.

Sophomore Bella Belen paved the way for NU with 16 points built on 14 attacks, a block and an ace, while Alyssa Solomon and Cess Robles chipped in 14 and 12, respectively.

The Lady Tamaraws went blank on the offensive end as they were held to a single-digit production, with Chenie Tagaod and Jean Asis only scoring six points each in the straight-set beating.

FEU, which wrapped up its first round campaign, absorbed a 4-3 record.

NU is set to face Season 84’s championship rival De La Salle on Wednesday, March 22, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
